Today the school has about 450 children and 15 teachers . Providing free residential education all the needs of the children are met by the brothers freely like food, uniforms, medicines.. etc…

The Brothers are concentrating on the education of tribal children. The Brothers help the people in a limited way to take them to the hospital, to help th e youth to awaken them and we also try to educate some students to go for higher studies who otherwise will stay at home. The Brothers are able to do these works with the Support from our other institutions and like minded people who support with donations.

Girijana Seva Samastha

Montfort Brothers belonging to Brothers of St Gabriel Educational Society began the social Transformation in the remote area of Srikakulam district, at a village called Manapuram 13 kms far from the mandal headquarters Veeraghattam. The tribal people here depend mostly on agriculture. They do shifting cultivation. They also depend on forest produce for their survival. In the beginning the concentration was on the conscientiousness work, medical help, adult education, helping in the schools run by the government..etc to the poor primitive tribals namely savaras. After working for nine years the brothers have moved to Mamidimanuguda another tribal village in the Vizianagaram district. The people of this village also were the primitive tribals namely the Savaras. The Brothers began to organize the people, send some for education ,worked against the exploitation by the money lenders, helped people to go to the government, education, medical help..etc. Brothers worked for nine years there. However brothers felt very strongly that without educating the primitive tribals nothing much can be done and so brothers began a school exclusively for the primitive tribals only.

They believe in the ancestral spirits and they have their own beliefs and traditions. The medical facilities are very less and have to travel long distance for treatment. The sanitation facilities are not proper for the people.
